Lucas Vázquez and Brahim, after a magnificent assist from Vini Jr. with the outside of his right foot, secured the win against Chelsea to wrap up the DirecTV Soccer Champions Tour.
Real Madrid won their final warm-up match in the US. Both of the Whites’ goals at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte came in a fantastic first half. Lucas Vázquez and Brahim, after a magnificent assist from Vini Jr. with the outside of his right foot, were on target for Madrid. Ancelotti‘s men must now turn their attention to the first potential trophy of the season: the Uefa Super Cup against Atalanta in Warsaw (Wednesday 14, 9 pm).
Brahim wondergoal
The Whites were ahead, but they continued to carve out a flurry of chances to add to their lead. Ceballos almost scored with a shot from outside the area that almost beat Jorgensen in the 23rd minute. Five minutes later, Real Madrid doubled their advantage. A stunning assist from Vini Jr. with the outside of his right foot and an equally impressive finish from Brahim produced Madrid’s second goal. The Morocco international only needed two touches to put the ball into the net. His first touch saw him go past the Chelsea keeper with his right foot and then finished superbly with his left peg.
Chelsea reduced the deficit in the 39th minute. Enzo played the ball to the back post and Madueke headed home. With the score at 2-1 at half-time, the high tempo continued after the interval. Nkunku had the chance to equalise just after the start of the second half when he found himself one-on-one with Lunin, but the keeper stood tall. And three minutes later, Brahim came close again with a strike from inside the area that kissed the post. Nico Paz also went close with a fierce long-range effort in the 76th minute. For the remainder of the clash, Ancelotti‘s side were fairly comfortable and wrapped up the DirecTV Soccer Champions Tour with a victory.
